Norrtälje's cultural heritage along the river
Å-Promenaden is a cultural heritage walk along the Norrtälje River, from Lommaren in the west to the river mouth at Norrtälje Harbour in the east. The just over 3 kilometre stretch is accessible year-round and is equally suited for a rainy autumn day as for a sunny summer evening.
37 historical signs
Along the promenade, 37 information signs have been installed, with texts documenting the city's historical sites and the history of buildings. You pass traces of textile factories, rifle forges, clothing factories, mills and shipyards — an industrial history that shaped Norrtälje into the city it is today. Among the signs you will also find harbour facilities, warehouses, sailing ships and historical merchant's houses.

Practical information
The starting point is either at Lommaren in the west or at Norrtälje Harbour in the east — the promenade works equally well in both directions. Digital map and more information can be found on norrtalje.se. Å-Promenaden is free and requires no booking.
