Alunda Church is a magnificent stone cruciform church whose oldest parts date from the 13th century. The church's lime paintings were made by Johannes Iwan. The church has an organ from the 1800s in original condition, made by Åkerman & Lund.
In the 1400s the church was provided with brick vaults and two extensions: a transept arm and a porch. In a fire in 1859, the interior of the chancel was affected. After a renovation in the late 1800s, the church got new pew furnishings. A comprehensive restoration was carried out in 1937. The church got new plaster in 1962 and the roofs got copper sheeting.
