St Andrew's Church

Carl Andersson had a large mission church built in Vaxholm that held 2000 people and had a tower that became a well-known sea mark far out on Saxarfjärden. The large church became expensive to maintain and was demolished during 1966-67. A new modern brick church was later built at another location in the town, on the corner of Hamngatan and Badhusgatan. The church is adorned with large, acclaimed works by Sven Löfdahl. The congregation holds regular services, a meeting point for the elderly, and runs children's and music activities.
