Angarn Church

Angarn Church is a medieval hall church located in Angarn parish, within the Diocese of Stockholm, and serves as the parish church of Össeby congregation. The church was built in stone at the end of the 13th century and consists of a nave with a straight chancel to the east, a sacristy north of the chancel, and a porch on the southwestern side of the nave. The exterior walls are plastered and the roofs are covered with standing seam, black-painted sheet metal.

During extensive renovations at the end of the 18th century, the church interior received its present segmented barrel vault of plaster and wood, and several windows were modified to their current appearance. Among the church's furnishings are a baptismal font from the 13th century, a Romanesque triumphal crucifix from the 11th century, and a pulpit in neoclassical style, made by court wood carver Per Ljung in connection with the same renoveries. The church also has an organ with five stops.

Bell tower and runestones

Southeast of the church, on the other side of the road, stands a bell tower on a rise. It was built in 1661 and has since been given its present appearance with paneling and a tent roof topped by a spire. In the tower hang two bells, the smaller of which was probably cast in the first half of the 14th century. Near the church there are also several runestones – one is built into the northeastern corner of the sacristy and three more stand outside the churchyard wall.
