The boat warehouse on Rindö

The Boat Warehouse on Rindö is part of the Maritime Museum and is located on Rindö outside Vaxholm. Here, an impressive collection of approximately 60 original boats is preserved, some of the oldest being King Gustav III's cutters Galten and Delfinen from the 1780s. The warehouse is housed in a former military storage building at the Oskar-Fredriksborg fortress.

The boat collection was moved to Rindö in 2018 from Boat Hall 2 on Södra Djurgården in Stockholm. In addition to the boats, the Maritime Museum also stores its large collection of vintage boat engines here. The warehouse is open to the public on a number of weekends per year, which gives visitors the opportunity to discover both traditional folk boats and royal cutters from different periods.
