The Boatswain's Museum is located by Ekbacken in Åkersberga. The building originally stood on the land of Smedby Manor but was bought by the Österåker Heritage Association in 1957.
The association moved the house to Ekbacken, where they furnished the croft and used it as a heritage farmstead. When the White House came to Ekbacken, the association turned the house into a Boatswain's Museum. The museum was inaugurated on 6 June 1992.
