Battery Arholma – Experience Museum

Here the stately cannon looks out over the Sea of Åland, and in the rock below hides a large facility with barracks, a combat-control room, a kitchen, medical rooms, a power-generator room, etc. The facility was top secret and mobilised 340 men. Swedish officers and conscripts had the task of halting the Soviet Union's landing fleet and protecting Sweden against a hostile invasion. Guided tours: For safety reasons, the facility is shown only with guided tours. During the tour you get to feel what it was like to live and train inside the defence facility during the Cold War. Our guides are experts in military history and take you around this enormous facility underground. Booking is recommended, as the tours quickly become full and the number of places is limited to 15 people/tour.
