The heritage farmstead — our work consists partly of caring for and maintaining around ten older buildings and the surrounding garden. We also organise various events throughout the year. The Salt Shed in the manor area was built in the early 1800s and was a place for storing salt. The Agricultural Museum houses a number of old farm machines and firefighting equipment. The Mining Museum, founded in 2017, is located in the old stable building at the Dannemora mine.
At the heritage farmstead there is a coffee service at weekends during June–August between 12 and 16, with home-baked bread and sandwiches. The service is set in surroundings with a garden and lawns all around, and there is also a covered outdoor terrace. On the grounds there are several older buildings such as a bakehouse, the old farmstead, a smithy and a flea market. The Korsnäs villa can be hired for various gatherings.
The Salt Shed is open Tuesday–Sunday from 25 June, see the Manor's opening hours. There you'll find objects moved from the heritage farmstead's museum as well as Nils Granath's black-and-white photo collection of working horses. Not adapted for disabilities.
The Agricultural Museum, Långgatan 5 in Österbybruk, is open Mondays between 9:00 and 15:00. The museum has a large number of tractors and other farm machines.
The Mining Museum is open Saturdays between 12:00 and 15:00 from 29 June, see further announcements. There you'll find a model of the mine as it looks underground, the velvet-lined barrel that Oscar II rode down into the mine in, as well as machines and tools used in the mine.
