Local bookstore with a long history

Djursholms Bokhandel was founded on December 3, 1903 and has been located in Djursholm ever since. In its current form, the store opened in September 2006 after a complete renovation, and has been run since October 2017 by Dorothea Hygrell – in the same spirit as her predecessors: as a place for conversation about books.

The store offers a selection of approximately 6,000 titles spread across two floors. On the ground floor you'll find the regular selection of fiction, non-fiction and children's and young adult books in Swedish and English. Down a staircase you'll find the classics shelf, science fiction and fantasy, as well as stationery, puzzles and games. There are also clearance shelves with older books at half price. If you're looking for a title that's not in stock, we're happy to order it for you.

In addition to books, the store sells cards, puzzles, games and office supplies. Personal book recommendations and gift wrapping are offered gladly. The bookstore also arranges author visits and an open book circle that everyone interested is welcome to attend.
