Fasterna heritage farmstead

Granby Heritage Farmstead, Rånäs The heritage farmstead is located in Rånäs, a beautiful ironworks setting by Lake Skedviken. Here is the southernmost of the Walloon ironworks in Uppland, with roots in the 1700s. An ironworks street, castle and mill building recall the heyday. Nearby lie Fasterna Church and the Mörby castle ruin. The heritage farmstead is a workers' dwelling from the 1870s that originally consisted of four apartments and a bakehouse. Today there is a 1930s museum kitchen, an archive, a library and exhibition rooms. Permanent exhibitions tell, among other things, of Mörby's heyday, the Walloon ironworks era and early glass production at Fixbylehyttan. The large upper floor houses a textile chamber as well as museum interiors such as a schoolroom, a shoemaker's, a kitchen, a carpentry shed, etc. The outdoor setting consists of a large garden with several arbours to drink coffee in, a kitchen garden and a playhouse for the children to play in.
