Roslagen has a growing selection of gelateries, ice cream bars and farm-made ice cream — many in the classic archipelago towns, others out in the countryside and on the islands. Here is a selection, sorted by where you are in Roslagen.
The Archipelago Towns
In Vaxholm, Glass på Hörnet is an institution — one of the most beloved ice cream bars in the entire area, judging by the stream of satisfied visitors. In Öregrund you can choose between Öregrunds Gelateria and Öregrunds Glassbar, both right in the old wooden town by the water. And in Grisslehamn, Glassboden is located near the ferry terminal to Åland.
Norrtälje and the Archipelago to the North
In the middle of Norrtälje you will find Glassberget, a popular stop in the harbour district. Out towards the sea is Bondens glasskalas on Väddö, and on Ljusterö you can treat yourself to a scoop at Gelato & Chill.
Täby, Danderyd and Åkersberga
Closer to Stockholm there are several fine gelateries: Oooh' Gelato and Gelaterian in Täby, Glasskalas in Danderyd, and Glassverkstan on Stora Säby Farm in Åkersberga, where the ice cream is made on the farm.
