Norrtälje is Roslagen's central town and the municipality offers a varied selection of developed barbecue sites — everything from city parks to nature reserves along the coast and inland.

City Centre Barbecue Sites

In central Norrtälje you'll find Borgmästerholmen, a small oasis with developed fire pits. Håstaparken in Rimbo has a barbecue site with picnic tables and open grass areas next to a playground. These spots are well suited for shorter outings with children.

Färsna Outdoor Area

Färsna gård, located two kilometres from Norrtälje town, offers barbecue sites and wind shelters in forest land by Roslagsleden. There is also a forest playground with an obstacle course. Färsna is one of the municipality's most visited outdoor destinations and accessible all year round.

Nature Reserves and Archipelago

Vigelsjö nature reserve has a barbecue site well located on the promontory by Lake Lommaren. Riddersholms nature reserve on Rådmansö contains several barbecue sites in a hilly archipelago setting. Along Roslagsleden there are additional rest areas with wind shelters marked in the Naturkartan app.

Fire Regulations and Season

From 1 April to 30 September there is a fire ban in planned areas in Norrtälje. During periods of high fire risk, a total ban on fires can be issued by the Greater Stockholm Fire Department. Tips for Your Visit

Bring dry wood and kindling — wood supplies at municipal sites can be sparse. Why not combine your barbecue with a walk on Roslagsleden or a swim at one of the municipality's bathing sites. All sites are free to use and require no advance booking.
