The plot that ICA Kvantum Flygfyren stands on was bought in 1960 by Olle Henriksson, who needed premises for a wholesale warehouse. In the late 1960s the neighbouring plot was bought and plans for a department store took shape. After appeals and replanning in the town plan, the plans were approved in 1975 and construction began. On 10 June 1976, Varuhuset Flygfyren opened for the first time. In 1979 Flygfyren opened a salad bar. Departments: own kitchen, bakery, fish counter, meat and deli department, Health & Beauty, flower department, checkout and customer service, all under the same roof. The dish of the day is served in ICANDERs every weekday, and other dishes are also served daily. You can sit down for a fika or take away.
