On the southernmost part of Gräsö lies Idön nature reserve, where the land is strongly shaped by the small-scale farming and forestry that has been carried out here over long periods.
There are several marked paths in the area, starting from the northern car park, which is located in an old gravel pit on the left side of the road. Down at Äspskär there are also parking options. There is information, a picnic table, a toilet and trodden paths there, but these are not marked.
