Your kayak adventure begins here! We at Kajak & Uteliv help you to a fantastic kayaking experience. We operate from our two kayak bases in Stockholm's northern archipelago, Gräddö and Furusund — but the whole archipelago is waiting for you.
On Gräddö, between the inner and outer archipelago, you can hire a kayak, take a kayak course or join a guided kayak tour. There are also Stand Up Paddle courses and board hire.
Kayak hire: Kajak och Uteliv runs kayak hire in the Stockholm archipelago. For safety reasons you should paddle together with someone, and preferably have taken part in a guided tour or course or have a Paddle Pass from before.
Kayak courses: Courses are arranged at various levels, for both beginners and the experienced. The business follows the Paddle Pass training ladder and offers courses throughout the season.
Guided kayak tours: Various paddling tours are arranged in the Roslagen archipelago, from a few hours to longer tours in the outer archipelago. There are also self-guided tours.
Group events and conferences: Group events with kayaking in the Roslagen archipelago north of Stockholm can be tailored for conferences and other groups, regardless of size. A private lesson or your own kayak guide can be booked, price on request.
Kayaking – taster course in Roslagen: A course for you who have never sat in a sea kayak and want to learn basic paddling technique. The course starts at 9:30 at Gräddö Brygga and continues until about 12:30, after which you have access to the kayak during the afternoon. During the course, all the elements of the white-level Paddle Pass are practised, and if the participant meets the requirements, the white-level Paddle Pass is awarded. Course content: correct sitting position, basic knowledge of the kayak, handling on land, getting in and out, and basic paddling technique for forward paddling, sweep stroke and rudder function. Paddle a kayak in the Roslagen archipelago with a lunch basket: The tour departs in the morning from Gräddö. Together you go through the kayak (equipped with paddle, life jacket, spray deck) and a little paddling technique. Then you paddle out into the archipelago. The guides take the participants for lunch and possibly a swim. The lunch basket contains locally produced potato salad and warm-smoked salmon, as well as bread, butter, a drink, coffee and fika bread. The paddling continues back to Gräddö, with return at about 16:00.
Stand Up Paddle course: A course in Stand Up Paddle (SUP), where you get along standing on a board with the help of a longer-shafted paddle.
