Karl's church ruin is in Söderbykarl, about 15 km outside Norrtälje. Until the 1700s, Söderby-Karl was divided into two parishes, Karl's and Söderby. Karl's parish was the smaller one, and in 1812 the last service was held in Karl's Church, which was then left to fall into ruin.
Today the foundation walls stand here, revealing that the church was a Romanesque church from the early 1200s. Here, in a shrine, the relics of the saint Karlung were kept. A few of the furnishings from Karl's church are at the Erikskulle heritage museum and in Söderby-Karl church. In summer, open-air services are held here.
