Norrtälje Church

Norrtälje Church is centrally located in Norrtälje. Shortly after Norrtälje became a town in 1622, the German smiths of the rifle factory and the town's Swedish burghers built a wooden church. The church was burned down by the Russians in 1719, but as early as 1726 a new stone church could be consecrated, which was further extended in the 1770s.

During the major renovation in 1960 the church regained its 18th-century character. All the glass paintings are by Randy Fisher. The cemetery served as a graveyard until 1880. A chapel was built in Norrtälje's new graveyard in 1902.
