Östanå Slott – historic castle setting in the central archipelago
Östanå Slott is located in Österåker Municipality in the central archipelago, approximately 45 minutes from Stockholm. The castle was completed in 1794 but has medieval origins and has been carefully renovated into modern apartments with classic elegance.
In the newly restored castle setting there is a baroque garden, apple orchards and views over the archipelago. The area is surrounded by what is described as Northern Europe's largest beech forests. The castle contains eight residential apartments, and the two plastered wooden wing buildings have housed terraced houses of 117–161 m².
Östanå Slott is suitable as both a permanent residence and as a summer home, with a location next to Ljusterö in the central archipelago.
