Österbybruks Herrgård

Here you encounter the typical structure of the Walloon ironworks with the straight ironworks streets and the manor located by the water. In the manor park there is a 250-year-old lime avenue and, in the centre of the park, a cross-shaped pond. On the manor grounds there is the preserved Walloon smithy, an orangery garden, a carriage museum, an agricultural museum, an antique shop, a reuse shop, a smithy, an art gallery, a shop and a café. The manor and the manor grounds are a destination for individuals and groups interested in the manor's annually recurring events such as exhibitions, concerts, theatre, fairs, building-conservation camps, guided tours and ghost walks. During the summer's scheduled guided tours of the smithy and the manor, visitors learn about the Walloon ironworks' importance in Swedish industrial history and its owners, from Gustav Vasa, the de Geer, Grill and Tamm families up to the artist Bruno Liljefors' time at the manor. The manor grounds and all their buildings are owned by the Österbybruk Manor Foundation and are listed buildings. In the manor's wings there is the preserved ironworks church, and in the other wing the Gammel Tammen inn, with a café and accommodation. Here, booking is offered for smaller and larger celebration arrangements, conferences and weddings.
