About 800 metres from Ljusterö Torg is the Pilgrim Trail, which was inaugurated in 2016. The trail was created by volunteers from the Church of Sweden. The trail's 2.6 km route is demanding in places and takes at least an hour to walk around.
The pilgrim trail on Ljusterö consists of six different stops: Oxeln, Biskopsbrevet, Laga skifte, Tysta skogen, Björkdungen and Kyrkberget. The last-named takes you up to the highest point on the trail. Here you'll find the oldest trees, which were previously used to make sledges and boat stems. The other tree species found around the trail are about 25 years old and are planted on old pastures. These will in time be transformed into planks, boards and paper. All around the trail there are various places that contribute their own history. At Laga skifte you'll find a heritage-protected stone cairn that previously served as marker stones for the boundary lines between Sundvik, Östanå and the Ljusterö-Kulla parish.
