Riala Church

The church's porch is unusually large, and here there is an altar placed with the torso of the old triumphal crucifix. During a restoration at the end of the last century, a drastic intervention was made, and the windows were given their three-part form, and the church was rendered white. On entering, you meet a wooden sculpture depicting the apostle James, from the later half of the 1300s. A Madonna with the Christ Child dates from the 1400s, and from the same age the vaults date. In the church there was St James's reliquary shrine, which was confiscated by Gustav Vasa. The altarpiece is a copy of Rubens, whose original is in Antwerp.
