Rönninge by-Skavlöten nature reserve

Rönninge by-Skavlötens naturreservat is an area close to town in Täby that stretches along the eastern shore of Lake Rönningesjön. The nature reserve offers everything from an exercise area with training trails and lit slopes to open-air bathing and — in winter — a ploughed skating rink on the lake's ice.

The area is rich in nature and wildlife. In the northern part, older coniferous forest grows, while from Skansberget in the middle you get a fine view over the lake and Täby. In the south lies the 19th-century village of Rönninge by with active farming and a nature school. In the water, crested grebes and grey herons breed, and in the forest you may encounter woodpeckers, willow warblers and the rare lesser spotted flycatcher.

The nature reserve is easiest to reach from Roslagsvägen in the north or Hägernäs station in the south, also via Antennvägen in Arninge.
