Roslagsambassadörerna

RoslagsAmbassadörerna is a non-profit association, founded in 2005, whose purpose is to spread knowledge about nature, culture, history and business in Roslagen through study visits, talks and guided tours.

The association is aimed at those who are interested in Roslagen, want to learn more about the history, sights, destinations, activities and other things in Roslagen, and want to share their knowledge of Roslagen with guests and visitors. It is about welcoming people to Roslagen and protecting the Roslagen brand.

The association, which is a member of Norrtälje Handelsstad, has around 110 members.

For membership, you must complete a short personal "training" about Roslagen, which consists of four of your own visits to Roslagen, one within each theme: Walloon ironworks/iron mill, Archipelago, Town and Countryside/cultural landscape. You then present "My favourite spot in Roslagen" at a meeting and are crowned a Roslagen Ambassador, after which you can become a member. The membership fee is currently SEK 170 per year.

The association arranges various forms of events for its members, for example day tours by bus, archipelago tours by boat, city walks, company visits and lectures, all with a connection to Roslagen. A few events each year are held for the public, including Thomas Day on Stora Torget on 21 December and Roslagen's Flag Day on Stora Torget on 21 June. The association has also arranged film screenings to which non-members have also been welcome.
