Roslagsbro Church is built of split granite in the early Middle Ages and was in its time a rich and powerful church. The nave is the original church, built in the 1200s. In the 1400s the chancel was added, and the vaults were built and painted.
Even today the paintings look freshly made, thanks to the fact that they have never been painted over. The artist's name is unknown, but he is called the Roslagen Master. On the paintings in the porch you can see, among other things, the troll hare that milks the farmers' cows. The altarpiece in Roslagsbro church is Sweden's oldest. The church also preserves several remarkable treasures. Among them an image of the dead Christ, laid in a so-called "Easter sepulchre". Here too is the well-known St Erik sculpture. To Roslagsbro you can take bus 676 (Norrtälje) from Stockholm to Norrtälje bus station. Then change to bus 645 (Gåsvik) and get off at Roslags-Bro church
