Roslagsleden - Stage 4
Hike Roslagsleden from Danderyd to Grisslehamn. The trail is 190 kilometers long and divided into 11 stages. Stage 4 runs between Lövhagen and Dommarudden and is approximately 12 km long.
Stage Overview
Stage 4 is 13 km long and leads from Lövhagen southward towards Domarudden at the northern end of Vallentunasjön. The terrain is forested with lakes and nature reserves, and the stage is classified as moderate (blue). Estimated walking time is 3 hours.
Along the Trail
The stretch passes through the Tärnan area with forest of high natural values, where beaver thrive and their dams sometimes affect accessibility — a sign of living nature. Great spotted woodpeckers and other forest birds are common companions. Along the way there are remains that recall Långhundraleden, the Vikings' sea route to Uppsala, and ruins of Uddra mill from the 1700s. The idyllic rest spot by the lake Trehörningen is a welcome stop in the middle of the stage. Towards the end, the landscape opens up towards Domarudden with bathing opportunities at the cliffs by Lilla Harsjön.
Practical Information
The stage ends at Domarudden outdoor recreation area, which offers parking (max 24 h weekdays), toilets and bathing spot. Public transport reaches Lövhagen at the start and Solskiftesvägen near the end. Drinking water is available at the golf course Brollsta (summer) and at Domarudden (year-round). Difficulty level: moderate (blue marking).
