Skebobruk Museum

Here you'll learn the history of the Walloon iron that became Sweden's first export success and the foundation of Roslagen's largest industry for several hundred years. As early as 1444 it was mentioned in a document that iron was produced in a furnace at the Skebo falls. In the 1620s Skebo Bruk got its first bar-iron hammer, and the heyday lasted until the end of the 1800s, then turned towards the final bankruptcy in 1924. In distinguished photographs, text and with objects and detailed models, the museum depicts the industrial environments of iron production and the special culture of the Walloon ironworks community. Open 2023: 17 June - 13 August, Friday to Sunday, 1pm-4pm. Also open Thursdays in July.
