Snöbottenkärret is a small forest area between the lakes Vällen and Gisslären, west of Hallstavik. The area is covered with deciduous mixed and swamp forests. The forests have a rich insect fauna. Over 40 red-listed beetle species have been found here, including the scarce cinnaber beetle (red-list category EN).
