STF Finnhamns Vandrarhem

A landmark in the Stockholm archipelago

STF Finnhamns Vandrarhem has been a landmark in the Stockholm archipelago for over 100 years. The beautiful, yellow house sits high and is visible from far away. The house was originally a private summer residence for the Rönnerström family and is today an appreciated hostel with many returning regular guests. The hostel and its attached cottages have a total of 87 beds distributed across 28 rooms.

On Finnhamn there is a restaurant with a rooftop bar and wonderful views, a kiosk at Paradisviken's sandy beach, a country store, and a wide range of activities including an outdoor gym, football pitches and a beach volleyball court. You can also run across the island on bare rock and heath. Dogs are welcome on the island – a limited number of cottages allow pets, while the main building is pet-free.

Finnhamn is also a nature reserve consisting of three interconnected islands. Lilla Jolpan has a primeval forest-like woodland and is home to a rich variety of wildlife including roe deer, badger, fox and five different woodpecker species. The hostel is open year-round, but during the colder season only for larger groups. During the summer season, Waxholmsbolaget operates the jetty with several departures daily.
