Tibble Church

Tibble Church is located in Tibble near Täby centre and is part of Täby Parish within the Stockholm Diocese. The church has been called Roslagen's cathedral and functions not only as a place of worship but also as a major ecclesiastical administrative centre – one of the largest in Sweden.

A living church complex

The building houses much more than a church hall: here you will find, among other things, chapels, a restaurant, a preschool, a youth centre, hobby rooms and a pastoral office. The building was designed by Göran Kjessler and Gudrun Steenberg, and the church interior – which occupies the building's fourth floor – was taken into use on the first Sunday of Advent 1976.

What really catches the eye in the church interior are the large glass mosaic walls, created by artist Mogens Jørgensen and Gudrun Steenberg. The floor is laid in limestone, and furnishings such as the altar, baptismal font and pulpit were designed by Göran Kjessler. The organ was built in 1977 by a Danish organ builder in Hillerød.
