Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use visitroslagen.com — regardless of assistive technology or ability.
Our ambition
Visit Roslagen aims to comply with WCAG 2.1 level AA (EN 301 549) — the standard set out by the EU's accessibility directive. We work continuously to improve the site and see accessibility as part of quality, not a box to tick.
What we've done
- Visible keyboard focus indicators throughout the interface.
- Respect for the "reduce motion" system setting — animations are automatically toned down.
- Text contrast that meets AA requirements.
- A "Skip to content" link for those navigating by keyboard.
- Alt text on images and clear labels on buttons and forms.
- The site works in Swedish and English, with correct language tagging.
Known issues
We're not quite there yet. At the moment, we know that:
- The interactive map can be difficult to use with a keyboard alone — the same places are always available to browse as regular lists under each category and municipality.
- Our booking is handled via an embedded third-party service (Understory) whose accessibility we don't fully control.
- A few older pages and image captions may have shortcomings we haven't had time to fix yet.
We are addressing these on an ongoing basis.
