Ununge Church is from the 1200s and of Uppland type — built in grey and red granite with wide white joints. Even from a distance the church can be seen glowing with colour.
In the 1500s the church underwent a renovation when the roof was vaulted, the church was widened and the porch was added. It is believed that this was done when the church was felt to be too cramped. In 1897 the "Ununge Master" was given the task of decorating the church's vaults and giving the church a medieval character. At the same time the altarpiece was put up and the stained-glass windows in the chancel. In the bell tower hangs a bell from 1521.
