The oldest parts of Valö Church are from the 1200s. The church is very interesting, with many medieval lime paintings and fascinating furnishings.
In Valö church there are three medieval altar cabinets, something unusual for a country church. The cabinet that is on the altar today is a work from Antwerp around the year 1515. The other two are smaller and older. In the church there is a triumphal crucifix from the 1400s as well as a number of medieval wood sculptures. A late medieval choir pew and processional staffs. In the early 1500s rebuilding and extensions were made to the church, which among other things got a porch and sacristy. The church room's granite-stone walls have been dated to the end of the 1200s.
