Hiking and cycling trail on Singö & Fogdö

Singö is Sweden's 36th largest island, with a circumference of 66 km. The marked trails make it possible to visit beautiful parts of the island. The marked trails stretch more than four Swedish miles around Singö and Fogdö. The round trip and detours are marked with red and blue signs on Singö, while the trail from bridge to bridge on Fogdö is marked in green. The route is varied. The ambition is to use existing paths and roads as far as possible, among other things to make as little impact as possible on the terrain. Increased hiking keeps old paths open and passable, which is why the trails are also part of preserving older culture. Several stages run on gravel roads but only short stretches on the country road. On most stretches you can cycle to advantage, but over some paths a bicycle needs to be wheeled or even avoided. Certain stretches where the smaller paths link the roads are not suitable for cycling. For example, around Länsman from Stornotsand in the north to the road towards Backbybadet, or from Gruvudden to Norsillan. Ellan-Västeräng is also a pure forest path on the north side, but the adventurous will surely get their bicycle over all the paths, though with varying effort. A tip is to take the bus to one of the stops along the trail and then walk back. A large number of stops are located close to the trail, from Ellan in the north to southern Fogdö. SL bus number 637.
