The nature reserve lies between the lakes Lommaren and Ludden, directly adjacent to the town of Norrtälje. The area is popular for outdoor recreation, with nature trails and bridle paths, a campsite and a floodlit trail.
Here the Roslagsleden hiking trail also passes, which with its eleven stages stretches between Danderyd and Grisslehamn.
In Vigelsjö grove there are oaks up to 200 years old, and in spring typical grove plants grow here such as lungwort, hepatica, wood anemone, common fumewort and lily of the valley. In the area you can also find yellow anemone and snake's head fritillary.
